ADVICE TO A POTENTIAL LOVER

Don't look my way
if what you want
is quiet rain
and gentle sunshine,
moonlit strolls
and muted music.

I'll give you hurricanes
and thunder,
rocket rides
to unknown galaxies
ablaze with a zillion stars,
a thousand trumpets blaring.

We'll ride the wind
in wild abandon
to the purple mountaintop,
reach up and grab
the pot of gold.
