SILENT
LOVE
In
bygone
days,
when
love
so
boldly
spoken
was
thwarted
by
your
indifference,
my
heart
was
pierced
and
wounded
but
did
not
suffer
death.
Pride
intervened
and
heart
learned
to
whisper.
So
in
silence
I
will
love
you,
even
when
my
heart
screams
out
inside
its
chamber,
caged
and
helpless
to
speak
in
louder
tones.
The
lull
before
the
storm,
they
say,
brings
in
its
wake
a
dangerous
and
explosive
thing.
But
love
learns
silence,
and
hearts
can
abate
explosions
--
except
inside
the
soul,
where
only
God
sees.
