A
Sonnet For The Journey Of Life
Take
hopes and dreams and use them
for your fare.
Store sunshine in your heart for
rainy days.
Lift up your eyes in wonderment,
in praise!
In everything you do, remember
prayer
Will surely keep you from the
devil's lair.
If you should find yourself in
some dense haze
Of gloom, abide with faith and
God will blaze
A shining path and clear the
turbid air.
Above all else, pack love in
your valise,
And fling, with mighty hand,
despair and hate
Into the wind. The crown of
truth embrace.
If you expect to keep a lasting
peace
Within your heart, you must
obliterate
Dislike for each and every creed
and race.
