It
takes a lot of courage
to bare one's soul in verse,
to tell about the best
but not leave out the worst.
It takes a lot of courage
to let the spirit free
to open up the heart
for all the world to see;
to share one's soul with people
that one has never met,
the tears and all the heartaches
we'd just as soon forget.
But I suppose there's virtue
composing little rhymes --
our thoughts become uplifted
recalling better times.
