MOMENT OF TRUTH

It takes a lot to now give me a thrill,
Where once I lived in permanent delight,
When laughter rang throughout my domicile
And passion's flame was easy to ignite.
Those fevered, torrid days have taken flight.
No longer do I feel so brash and bold,
Nor do I have the power to excite
Since blazing summer days have now grown cold.
To conjure fantasy I've lost my skill;
To do so I consider to be trite.
I guess then you could say my love life's nil;
As far as I'm concerned that's quite all right.

These autumn days how quickly they unfold,
And I admit that I am getting old.
