The
Joys Of
Christmas
Oh, the joys of
Christmas
are twinkling in
my heart!
I'd tell you all
about them,
but I don't know
where to start.
There are no
words
descriptive
to say the way I
feel,
but my joys are
not imagined;
they definitely
are real.
The garland's on
my mantel;
the Christmas
tree's aglow,
and the outside
air is chilly
with lovely
misting snow.
My hearth is
warm and
crackling;
the carols
softly play.
Baby Jesus in
the manger
is sleeping on
the hay.
The wreath hangs
in my doorway
with Welcome
on its face,
and Santa Claus
and reindeer
on rooftop found
their place.
The cake inside
the oven
emits a
scrumptious
smell,
and the
dumplings on the
stovetop
arouse the nose
as well.
Their aromas
intermingle
with the ham and
fatted hen,
and I know my
Christmas dinner
will rate a
perfect ten!
The grandkids
are excited;
their laughter
brings me cheer,
and I'm so very
happy
that they could
come this year.
Yes, I feel the
joys of
Christmas;
my heart is
filled with
song.
How I wish this
blessed season
could last the
whole year long!
