The
Wonder
of
Spring
Thank you, God, for the flowers
and the pretty butterfly,
and for the puffy clouds afloat
in the blue expanse of sky.
Surely when You made these,
You knew my heart would sing
when I beheld such beauty
in this season that's called Spring.
The winter months have been so cold;
there were no flowers peeping
to cheer my thoughts and fill my eyes --
sometimes I felt like weeping.
But now it seems that everywhere
the world's alive with wonder,
and when I view Your handiwork
I cannot help but
ponder:
How did You make this masterpiece?
You must have worked for hours
creating tiny butterflies,
perfecting lovely flowers.
The wonder of Your masterpiece
inspires me now to sing
a glad goodbye to Winter
and a fond hello to Spring.
