Summertime
Residence
Give me the
shade of a
lively oak,
A grassy carpet
to lay my frame,
The twitter of
birds and a
frog's croak,
And there each
summer I'll
stake my claim.
Give me a glass
of pink
lemonade,
A sighing breeze
just to cool my
face,
A glimmer of sun
that is heaven
made,
And I'll be
certain I've
found my place.
Add a daisy's
scent wafting on
the breeze,
A butterfly
lazily drifting
by,
A simple book to
read with ease,
And there I'll
stay till night
is nigh.
Oh! thanks for
the wonderful
great outdoors,
The open space
and the grassy
sod,
A place where
the mind with
contentment
soars
And the soul's
in touch with
the heart of
God.
