HIS
LOVELY BRIDE FOREVER
Like
quills to poets their
very souls were wed;
they wrote the lines
together from the heart.
With reverence their
fervent vows were said
that death and only
death could make them
part.
She was his lovely bride
of years ago;
he still can see the
sparkle in her eyes.
He knew without a doubt
he loved her so;
she put the blue back in
his darkened skies.
His orphan years had
shown him life was sad,
but she was spring and
summer both combined,
and he, a lonely,
drifting, somber lad,
at last felt loved the
day their souls
entwined.
In forty years she's
never left his side,
and in his heart she's
still his lovely bride.
