IF
I COULD
If
I could write a
lovely rhyme
to show how much I
care for you,
I’d pen it with
the finest ink
to tell you of my
love so true.
Upon a parchment
page so rare,
my words would
stream in metered
style;
my verbs and nouns
would dance with
joy
to match the
essence of your
smile.
My heart would
pulse on every
line
the way it does
when you are near;
a thousand violins
would play
sweet music only
you could hear.
But I can't write
a lovely rhyme
depicting such
ecstatic bliss,
so darling, I will
show it with
the heartfelt
fervor of my kiss.
