The times when happy thoughts appear,
To ease the mind from weary stress,
Is when we face the world with eyes
Of anticipation and eagerness.

To brood about sad yesterdays,
Or cry aloud in pain and woe,
Will block the sunshine from the heart
And cover us with rain and snow.

So when you feel deluged with gloom,
Just keep your eyes upon the King.
Before too long your tears will dry,
And you will hear the bluebirds sing.
