The
Winner
If I
must
work
then
work I
shall
and give
my very
best;
if I am
graded
by what
I do,
I'll
strive
to ace
the
test.
If
strength
and
might is
what it
takes
to reach
the
finish
line,
I'll
pray to
God to
keep me
strong
and let
me end
on time.
If I
should
meet
unfriendly
folk
along
the
beaten
path,
I won't
be quick
to
fulminate
but slow
to show
my
wrath.
If I
should
lose the
friends
I love,
I'll
grieve a
while,
but then
I'll
make new
pals
along
the way,
remember
those
who've
been.
If fate
should
rob me
of my
health
and
leave my
mind
bereft,
I'll
persevere
as best
I can
with
what I
do have
left.
If I
don't
land the
golden
cup
nor
score
high on
the
test,
a
sure-fire
winner I
will be
because
I did my
best.
